Argggh....how can I get rid of the blogger banner?? Or shift it somewhere?? Ugly ugly...

Thursday, November 27

I am trying to renovate the Bakery (again).
Its sorta like I've stripped it bare & am supposed to put on a new coat of paint. Apparently i'm slacking on the 2nd part of this procedure - the Bakery looks darn boring now, no?
I was trying to figure out how to create blog folders - with folders, I can perhaps do more things & make the Bakery more interesting? - with phoenich's help, I realise this is a luxury I would have to pay for. Bah!! *pout*

Lets see, what have I done this weeks thus far...
*********
Monday
I went jogging after work. Meant to run to YCK stadium & meet dundun & run some more with her. But halfway to the stadium, my left ankle acted up again. Sob sob...could only walk slowly to meet my sweet love. We can't run in the stadium - the spotlights went off just as I reached, like taunting me like dat. We chatted a bit; the bastard's back!!
Morris d*t*d dundun for supper, & she roped in me, her chaperone. 1st stop: J8 Coffee Bean. I drank a small cinnamon ice blended, which consumed at 10.30pm effectively kept me awake til 4.30am. The caffeine really made me hiiIggH. Morris' interesting & fun to talk to. 2nd stop: Jalan Kayu prata shop. Hah! The famed jln kayu prata is but, so so lah...'S'pore's answer to the croissant' at lower pierce reservoir is still the best! Service was slooww too, like Fong Sheng's Abang prata shop. True to expectation, I spotted friends there. So did dundun! So did Morris!! Saw Lili (she's got bloody good glowing skin!). Which led me to Xuanhao (who's as usual full of crap) & Alex (my favourite mortal!!). Well, its a good start to the holiday.

Fang's pet peeve 1: You smoking within my sniff-range.
Fang's pet peeve 2: You marathon-smsing in my company. (wat? Am I not pleasant enough that you need consort with the phone?! Rude.)
*********
Tuesday
Woke up dazed....caffeine hangover. Can't do much, cos I slept late & hence woke up late. Darn, a morning wasted! My family did a family meal at this dim sum restaurant, my cousins joined us. I like having meals with my family, save that it involves my father & sometimes my 2nd sis. My father left mid-way - that's when the party started rolling! We ordered a bloody load of food...I was so stuffed! The dim sum was delicious, til there was too much of them. Too much of a good thing is gross.
MY mom & I followed my cousins home after lunch. In the 2 hrs or so I was at their house, I managed to catch up with Liting & BoEn quite some bit. This is great. Cos I've been so caught up with my own life the past years I've neglected them. Bad fang, bad fang...other than my own immediate family, they are the blood ties I am closest to & care for. I've recruited them into Operation MC, dis coming sat! Keke....
Went home, damn sleepy...but barely sat down & warmed my butt, I've to up & hit the street again. Appointment with Charles, for dinner & movie (no jye & silver, I still do not think this constitutes as a date). But, no dinner for me absolutely. My rummy tummy's all dimmy summy. I was punctual....or so I tot. I reached orchard mrt at 6pm, proud & accomplished that I was right on time. Til I realised 'Opps, we are supposed to meet at 6.30pm!' Sighh...so my dear friends out there, please try to empathise with Little Miss Late here - punctuality & I are simply not meant to be! Hung out at Borders as I waited for my fren. Enigma got a new album out! Pity I can't sample it at there & then.
My Hari Raya flick: WARRIORS OF HEAVEN & EARTH
It's, a pretty good show. Some editing techniques used are cool: old school western film editing used in this modern production with an ancient china context - cute. I like the characters especially. Costumes that are bizarre but pretty; strong actors; characters rich with idiosyncrasies. Alas, the story...its ending is !!!! I'm scandalised with its ridiculouness.
Best part of the show is that I've found my new love!
Introducing Nakai Kiichi!

Yesss....I like middle-aged oriental man.
*********
Wednesday
Workday once again.
Lunch with dundun, shuping & morris. Hmm, should say 'I busy' next time dundun got d*t*e with Mr. M. Chicken rice. A lot of rice. Was torn between being stringent bout my carbo intake & wasting food. Wasting good food for sheer vanity is doubtlessly the bigger sin. Must keep this in mind....
$5 down.
Bought a new shawl. Chose canary yellow (yellow yellow dirty fellow...but I like!) which, after closer inspection, got holes! So I boh-bian got to exchange for a bright sky blue (blue, yucks! but I suit...). $15 down.
After work got waylaid by book sale in Bras Basah. Bought 5 books:
1. Slaughterhouse - Bosnia & the Failure of the West
2. Apocalypse Wow!
3. 150 Vegan Favourites (fresh, easy & incredibly delicious recipes you can enjoy every day)
4. The Consumer's Guide to Cat Food (what's in cat food, why its there, & how to choose the best food for your cat)
5. A Fortune-teller Told Me (earthbound travels in the Far East)
$8 down.
Met Jye & Davin for dinner. I tot I only had $2 left. But pouring out my coins, I actually had $4. Shillings are one of the miracle-performers in the world - they doubled my fortune with a blink of the eye!
Davin was damnnnn late. So he treated us to NYDC dessert! *hug silver* As we are scheduled to go steady in about a year's time, Dav & I spend much quality time getting to know each other better. Jye sticks out, figuratively & literally (hahaha...). But my boyfren-to-be sucks. He won't send me home.
Reached home. Mess around with the comp & write blog. Time flies. It's now 3.54am. *yawn*
(4.30am by the time I am done editing)

Below is an email I've just received. Dear reader, if you could, spread the word around, particularly about the need for dog adopter / fosterer.

Subject: Jurong Island Dogs all to be culled

Dear all,

The authorities has done it again - they always like to capitalise on animal abuses cases reported and at the same time take the chance to cull the rest of the strays dogs or cats.

The case that Sandy reported last week - the 3 dogs that were brutally murder. Even though the details of rape (plastic were found in the dogs anuses and their intestines were ruptured) by perpetrator was not mentioned in the Straits Times, they still decide to revoke Sandy's pass to enter Jurong Island to feed them. 70+ strays will be culled by lacing their food with poison.

Below is Sandy's (SOS Animals) plea.

Bad news. Jurong Island instructed my client to terminate my security pass into Jurong Island. That means more than 70 stray dogs would be starved to death or face painful death by eating food laced with poison. Dogs died from the poison were buried by construction workers.

If SPCA and myself were disallowed to enter Jurong Island,
I am planning to offer $50 for every dog that is brought out alive and well. Need volunteers for an urgent adoption drive...TO SAVE THE JURONG ISLAND STRAYS.

If you can help in any way, please contact Sandy at avshowcase@pacific.net.sg

So I'm a bloodsucker....

vamp
You are Form 9, Vampire: The Undying.

"And The Vampire was all that remained on
the blood drowned creation. She attempted to
regrow life from the dead. But as she was
about to give the breath of life, she was
consumed in the flame of The Phoenix and the
cycle began again."

Some examples of the Vampire Form are Hades (Greek)
and Isis (Egyptian).
The Vampire is associated with the concept of
death, the number 9, and the element of fire.
Her sign is the eclipsed moon.

As a member of Form 9, you are a very realistic
individual. You may be a little idealistic,
but you are very grounded and down to earth.
You realize that not everything lasts, but you
savor every minute of the good times. While
you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you
have strong ties with people that will never be
broken. Vampires are the best friends to have
because they are sensible.

FIND OF THE DAY

Usage Note: Enormity is frequently used to refer simply to the property of being great in size or extent, but many would prefer that enormousness (or a synonym such as immensity) be used for this general sense and that enormity be limited to situations that demand a negative moral judgment, as in "Not until the war ended and journalists were able to enter Cambodia did the world really become aware of the enormity of Pol Pot's oppression." Fifty-nine percent of the Usage Panel rejects the use of enormity as a synonym for immensity in the sentence "At that point the engineers sat down to design an entirely new viaduct, apparently undaunted by the enormity of their task." This distinction between enormity and enormousness has not always existed historically, but nowadays many observe it. Writers who ignore the distinction, as in "the enormity of the President's election victory" or "the enormity of her inheritance", may find that their words have cast unintended aspersions or evoked unexpected laughter

You probably think this is very irrelevant and boh-liao, but I find it very amusing. Hehehe....

I made a new friend, Helen last month. 2 weeks ago, when we met again at the World Animal Day fair in Fort Canning, she was happily chatting to me bout her 3 cats at home.
Last week, one of her cats, Ginger, went missing. She posted notices & email messages appealing for news & the return of Ginger. I posted a message on Friendster bout Ginger too.
A few days ago, I received news that Helen has found Ginger - but dead, covered with maggots a distance away from her house.
Today, I read....
"Helen, author of "99 Reasons Why Cats make Purrfect Pets" reveals how her Ginger dies.
Ginger was found dead with maggots and bloated. Only fur on its head, the rest of the body were defurred and there were scalding and burning marks. What a beast to have done that."

I....don't know what to say....
For those of us with pets, do do be careful with your pets. There are some really perverted sadists out there on Singapore streets.

MY DAY

I'm working at Odeon Towers, near Bras Basah centre. I'm lucky, for I have good frens working nearby & we can meet for lunch. Tunling @ suntec, Xi En @ PlazaByThePark, Shuping @ Albert Complex. I just had lunch today with Tunling. Just a simple lunch - but to have it with a good fren - that simply brightened up my whole afternoon. I was skipping on my way back to office after lunch, & would have whistled if I knew how.

I locked my desk drawers before I left for lunch today, cos got confidential files. But I can't find the key when I came back. Was in a real fix & pretty upset bout it (the locksmith will come tomolo & break open the drawer, & the cost incurred...I may have to pay). I desperately needed a perk-up - so Iwent to the pantry to make myself a cup of iced milo. The cleaning auntie knew I lost my key & was consolational bout it. I was looking for a glass & she offered me a thermal cup with a screw lid - new & dug out from the depth of her cabinet (ha! now I know auntie keeps secret stashes!). It was good, cos I can better shake & make my iced milo & keep it cold too! Drinking my ice-cold milo from auntie's purple metal cup - I felt so much better already. Damn therapeutic yah - chocolate, new utensil, kindness.

To top up today's office drama-mama - I found an eyecandy!! Mr dark-&-broad-shoulder-who's-polite-&-looks-kinda-shy-but-cutely-so works in the IT department, which tragically is a floor below my International HR department. Ah well, I'll just have to wait for the comps on the 17th floor to screw up....

I had a jogging date with Jye after work. I took service 171, from Stamford Rd to Hillview. It was a bloody 50-mins trip. But ok lah - I listened to my receiver & dozed off in the bus (TransIsland buses rock like a cradle). Was listening to FM99.3 - the world/new age music was wonderous & I was lulled to dreamland....til I heard a familiar 'Ai yo ai yo aiiii yo aiii ai yooo...' My ears perked up, my eyes shot open! 'Ooh...Return to Innocence remix. Great!' I tot. Well, a sorta a remix it was - hmm, perhaps sampling is more apt. Some act from Taiwan took the ''Ai yo ai yo' bit from 'Return to Innocence' & gave it an Oriental spin. Quite cool actually, not cheesy really... *grin*. So the whole piece was just a kinda chinese-style acapella of 'ai yo ai yo' with great asian percussions accompanying.

Before we started jogging, I shared a Biscuit Gula with Jye. I took 1/3 & gave him 2/3. It's cheap simple biscuit, which has been languishing in his tabletop container for ages. But, we both think its hen2 hao3 chi1. Sharing the delicious biscuit gula with Jye made me smile as I ran, til short-breathlessness overtook my gee.

Dreams & hopes keep you & I going through this life. But it is the little joys & tiny gifts here & there that keep us surviving through the everydays.

Ran with Jye, from Glendale Park to WestMall. Ate 'dinner' at S-11.
There was, at S-11, a little girl at a nearby table who took out a carton of HL choco milk from her Mommy's grocery bags and merrily opened it to drink. Alas, little missy threw the piece of carton-opening seal onto the floor. So I looked her in the eyes, & pointed my lovely long forefinger at her litter on the floor. She looked back with wide eyes, & I stared harder & shook my finger slightly. Poor missy took refuge at her mother's side, back resoundedly facing me. ~Jye & I both agree MOE would adore me as a teacher; I for that I can be fierce(*lifang's frown + stare*), he for that I have an extraordinary moral fibre (*blush blush* *phwee!*)
Over dessert, I asked him - 'Do you feel Malaysian?' & 'What's Malaysianism?'. Perplexing questions which confounded him for a while. But, Mr Ng rose to the occasion & gave rather articulate n insightful answers. Hmm...thank u Jye. My understanding of the big M has gained a centimileage. =)

The world is small. With the internet, it is even smaller! Just can't hide, just can't siam, can I? haha...(*classic dry laugh*)

I like this song, cos its soooo cheeky.

Dance Naked
I want you to dance naked
So i can see you
I´d like to get to know you
You don´t have to act naughty
Spin it round and round
Spin it round and round and round
I want you to dance naked
I promise i won´t touch you
I promise to tell no one, no
I want you to dance naked
Spin it round and round
Spin it round and round and round
I want you to dance naked
If you like i´ll join you
I want to enjoy your body
I want to hear all your secrets
I want to know if you like me
As much as i like you
I want you to dance naked
But only if you want to
Spin it round and round
Spin it round and round and round
I want you to dance naked
So i can see you
I´d like to get to know you
But only if you want to
Spin it round and round
Spin it round and round and round
I want you to dance naked

Another Sad Love Song

I love achingly-sad songs. This is 1 of my favourite songs. I heard it on my receiver in the bus earlier.
Billie Myers really sound so...heart-pained...

*********

Kiss the Rain

Hello
Can you hear me?
Am I gettin' through to you?
Hello
Is it late there?
There's a laughter on the line
Are you sure you're there alone?
Cause I'm
Tryin' to explain
Somethin's wrong
Ya just don't sound the same
Why don't you
Why don't you
Go outside
Go outside
Kiss the rain
Whenever you need me
Kiss the rain
Whenever I'm gone, too long.
If your lips
Feel lonely and thirsty
Kiss the rain
And wait for the dawn.
Keep in mind
We're under the same sky
And the nights
As empty for me, as for you
If ya feel
You can't wait till morinin'
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Hello
Do you miss me?
I hear you say you do
But not the way I'm missin' you
What's new?
How's the weather?
Is it stormy where you are?
Cause you sound so close but it feels like you're so far
Oh would it mean anything
If you knew
What I'm left imagining
In my mind
In my mind
Would you go
Would you go
Kiss the rain
And you'd fall over me
Think of me
Think of me
Think of me
Only me
Kiss the rain
Whenever you need me
Kiss the rain
Whenever I'm gone too long
If your lips
Feel hungry and tempted
Kiss the rain
and wait for the dawn
Keep in mind
We're under the same skies
And the nights
As empty for me, as for you
If you feel
You can't wait till morning
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Oooooohhhhh
Kiss the rain
Oooooohhhhh
Kiss the rain
Hello
Can ya hear me?
Can ya hear me?
Can ya hear me?

meas·ured (mzhrd):
Calculated; deliberate

********************************************
Had very delicious Sambal Fried Rice at AMK Central S11 today, with Sun & Yiqing! But the statay we ordered tasted like...plastic! *sick face*

Sun & I reminisced loads today bout our sch days, in particular 1F/2F days....
- Me & Yujins' table-&-chair fights
- Her & Genes' arm-&-ruler banters
- Mr Yeo & his fave read-aloud students
- Swee Huat, his victimisation, & the petition in his 'honour'
- The guys' hangout table at the right-back of the canteen, the gal's hangout table at the left-front of the canteen
- Soybean milk bottom-ups & yam-shengs
- the spicy mee goreng beside the 20 cents/cup soybean milk stall
- Sun's mee x 2 plates-appetite, Zsa's manly appetite
- Me & Zsas' exhanging seat everyday
- Us v.s. graveyard area
- My vocality, Zsa's vocality, Chai Ling's vocality, Sun's 'coerced' vocality
- I, Sun, sing songs!
- wat went bad...

To sum it up....

That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life'

Friday, November 7

Gee, feels like a long since I last blog-write.
Almost everyday, there will be some tots that run through my mind, phrases & happenings I particularly notice, words I hear & read, which I think are very good, very funny, very meaningful or plain special - that I make a note to write them in my blog. But come the end of almost everyday, I'll be too tired / lazy to actualise these gems & my resolve. Thus, I forget about them, & they disappear...

The following is what I can remember of the things I want to blog-write in the last few days.

***********
My idiosyncrasies

1. I feel faint when I see visions of blue, blue, blue.
2. I read the Life section of the newspaper backwards.
3. I count the ringtone when I make a call. If a person does not make up by the 6th ring, I prepare to hang up.
4. My right foot is bigger than my left. My left eye bigger than my right. My right calf bigger than my left.
5. I must drink chin chow drink when I go Changi Village.
6. My legs cramp (terribly) if I don't have enough sleep.
7. I hate men.
8. hmm....got more, can't remember now. Will add on to this list when I remember the.

Friendster

What's Friendster for? I still can't figure out a good purpose for Friendster.
I think its silly.
